Make a Difference
The State of Kentucky is proud to be represented by over 40 Cadets at the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado. These young men and women have proven themselves as outstanding, hardworking leaders. Upon graduation from the Academy as commissioned officers in the United States Air Force, they will be at the forefront of our future as pilots, engineers, combat systems officers, contracting officers, doctors and special forces, to name but a few.
The parents and guardians of these fine Cadets in Kentucky are members of the Falcon Families of Kentucky. We support our cadets throughout the year as they face a rigorous, non-traditional college setting. The Cadets are pushed hard at the Academy, starting with six weeks of basic training which goes right into the academic year with few breaks and fewer trips home to their beloved Bluegrass State. We support the cadets by:
- Holding a Kentucky themed night with dinner at the Academy. We provide goodie bags with items from their beloved home state. Duck tape, Post-it Notes, Kentucky Beef Jerky, Pop Tarts, Jiff Peanut Butter, Ruth Hunt Bourbon Balls, Air Heads Candy, and Ale-8 One are just a few of the wonderous items that are generously donated and given to our cadets. We also provide wonderful prizes for them to win as well as a good old Kentucky Fried Chicken meal. It's a big night, which the cadets thoroughly enjoy.
- Providing gifts to members of our Senior Class as they graduate
- Sending Birthday baskets
- Holding a family tailgate over parent's weekend
- Hosting the annual appointees dinner for newly selected cadets
- Supporting the Rando Fund, which provides cadets financial support in time of need.
